Well done Year 4!
This April, Year 4 attended the Annual Inter-Borough Sportshall Athletics competition. With a mixture of both running and field events the year 4 children were able to demonstrate their sporting skills and they came 3rd out of a total of 8 Westminster Schools.
Humanities: Children in year 4 are serious in their learning and have completely immersed themselves in the intricate piece of history that sees Britain take shape under Roman settlement and how the Anglos-Saxons also made a long lasting mark.
After our visit to a West Stow is the site of an early Anglo-Saxon village, occupied from AD 420-650, over 400 years before the Norman Conquest.
The reconstructed village now consists of eight buildings:
- craft building
- farmers house
- hall building
- living house
- oldest house
- sunken house
- weaving house
- workshop

Then, with all the newly-acquired knowledge, Year 4 worked in groups to build their own versions of an Anglo-Saxon village, carefully taking into account the many aspect that would make these ancestral form of society function.
