Hampden Gurney celebrated World Book Day 2026 with a joyful day dedicated to reading, creativity and imagination. Pupils and staff arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, bringing a wonderful range of stories to life across the school.

Throughout the day, children took part in a variety of engaging literacy activities designed to strengthen their love of reading and storytelling. The enthusiasm and excitement generated by the event helped to encourage pupils’ interest in reading and writing, supporting their ongoing learning in a meaningful way.
